It is through our dedication, passion, and commitment that we hope to conceive original, compelling, films that not only excite and entertain, but also inspire, create change, as well as reveal the human condition and spirit.

Origins of TigerEye

The creative origins of TigerEye started in nursery school when my dear teacher, Mrs. Beck, saw me drawing dozens of pictures during recess. I did this every day since I was extremely shy child and I found solace in my drawings and stories. One day she asked what I was doing, to which, I replied: "I'm drawing pictures for my book." I saw a sparkle in my teacher's eye: she had her "thinking cap" on and ideas were swirling about her head. The next day, Mrs. Beck presented me with two hand puppets: a brown rabbit that looked like Peter Cottontail and a rascally lion; wearing a green Hawaiian shirt and orange yarn for his shaggy mane. There was also a cardboard stage that had been set up at the front of the classroom. She said to me, "Now, let's go and bring those stories of yours to life." I took my place behind the stage and soon thereafter, the entire nursery school class was seated in front of me; captivated by Mrs. Beck's puppets and the stories that I was creating.

A special thank you to Mrs. Beck for her foresight in seeing the beginning stages of my creativity as well as other teachers and mentors that have inspired me throughout the years. To my investors: for their faith and belief in my work as a filmmaker. To my family and friends, for their constant love and support --- thank you from the bottom of my heart!

The Name TigerEye

The name has several meanings. First, *Tiger* is a nickname I acquired at a very early age that is still used today by family members. TigerEye is also a gemstone that has been around for centuries. Roman soldiers reportedly wore tigereye for protection in battle, and the stone was thought to be "all seeing" due to its ocular appearance. It is also believed that the semi precious stone is a representation of courage, confidence, and helps strengthens one's convictions. I believe these attributes are essential to independent filmmaking: having the courage to see one's vision through, no matter how insurmountable the odds, and sharing that vision/truth with the world.
