Sydney Grannell's lively imagination has served her well in life: a beautiful home, a wonderful career as the head curator at one of the top galleries in New York City, and numerous friends who never seem to be in short supply.     

But an unexpected phone call from her Goth, pill-popping brother James, revealing that their father was killed in a car accident, sends Sydney’s life into a tailspin.  With a major exhibition underway at the gallery, Sydney must now venture back to her childhood home where she has had virtually no contact with her family in years.
